The All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Students is a forum for Members of Parliament and Peers to discuss and gain understanding of the range of issues affecting students in further and higher education.
Founded in 2014, the APPG on Students is an opportunity for parliamentarians to hear directly from students about policies that impact them. A key aim of the Group is to ensure that student views and experiences are heard in Parliament and to facilitate interaction between students and MPs and Peers.
With regular meetings and events in the Houses of Parliament, the APPG is a key forum for all parliamentarians to develop greater understanding of important student issues. For MPs with students in their constituencies, the Group also represents a route to developing and building links with their constituents.
Through its meetings and activities the APPG will promote and develop the interests of students in Parliament, use the expertise and knowledge it gathers to advise government ministers on policies impacting on students, and develop greater links between students and parliamentarians.
The secretariat for the Group is provided by the National Union of Students (NUS). To become a member, or for more information about upcoming meetings, please contact: info@appg-students.org.uk
